Aston Villa's Christian Benteke scored twice to stun Arsenal on the opening day of the Premier League season at the Emirates.
Frenchman Olivier Giroud opened the scoring in the 6th minute of the game, but Benteke cancelled out the Arsenal strikers goal after converting a saved penalty from Wojciech Szczesny to equalise for Villains.
Benteke controversially put Villa ahead from the spot after a foul by Frenchman Laurent Koscielny, who later on in the game was shown a second yellow card for a second foul.
New signing Luna raced clear to seal Arsenal's woe with a low strike past the Polish keeper Wojciech Szczesny .
When the full-time whistle was sounded by referee Taylor, boos rang around the Emirates Stadium as the Arsenal fans showed what they thought of their side's performance on the opening day, although the arena was basically empty by this time.
Wenger has only managed to sign Frenchman Yaya Sanogo so far this season on a free transfer, and Arsenal fans are starting to become inpatient over a lack of signings - especially after the 3-1 home defeat.
Former Arsenal player Martin Keown told BBC Sport: "There have been links with some good players so there is an intention to buy them but they need to deliver. It is very worrying.
The manager has been good in the transfer window in the past and he needs to bring that back. There are 16 days to go in the window and they are massive for the club.
They need to improve the squad, they only just made the Champions League last season and their near neighbours Tottenham have strengthened."
The Arsenal boss only has 14 days to add to the squad and a new striker won't be his only transfer worries after conceding three goals at home to Villa - who only managed a 15th place finish last season.
