Arsenal look set to flop in the 2013/2014 season, should Arsene Wenger fail to make any additions to improve his current squad.
Arsenal recently feel victim to a 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa at the Emirates stadium on the opening day of the season.
The promise of world-class signings by major shareholder Ivan Gazidis to the Arsenal fans has yet to be upheld, with the transfer window approaching an end.
The only incoming transfer to the Arsenal squad has been the signing of French under-21 international Yaya Sanogo on a free transfer.
Arsenal fans were expecting a number of additions to be made to the squad before their opening game against Aston Villa, and the lack-of has proven disastrous for Wenger's squad, leading to a defeat on the opening day.
Not only has the departure of 17 players this transfer window proven harmful to Wenger's squad, but also the increasing number of injured players including the likes of Thomas Vermaelen, Mikel Arteta and, more recently, Kieran Gibbs, to name a few.
This means that Arsene Wenger has just 14 fit senior players to choose from.
The Gunners look set for a woeful season, should Wenger fail to make additions to his squad, and the ever-present risk of injury to any of the fit players also looks like an inevitable threat.
Laurent Koscielny also faces a one-match ban for his sending-off on Saturday's defeat to Villa.
Could this be a signal for Wenger to leave? Are Arsenal set to miss out on silverware yet again if they fail to make additions to the squad? Let us know what you think by adding a comment below.
