With the annual SummerSlam pay-per-view taking place last night at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, California there obviously is a lot of interesting news surrounding the world of the WWE.

I am here to bring you up to date with the SummerSlam aftermath as well as other latest headlines for August 19.

A Paul Heyman girl?

Paul Heyman has had a list of star-studded names as his clientele, from CM Punk to Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel; to The Beast Incarnate; Brock Lesnar. Now it looks as if Paul Heyman has already set his sights on a new client, the NXT Women’s Champion; Paige.

The official WWE NXT Tout account posted a video of Heyman teasing that his next recruit may be a ‘Paul Heyman girl’ instead of a male wrestler, leading many to believe that the 21-year-old from Norwich in the United Kingdom could be the one.

John Cena to have surgery this week

As expected, John Cena did drop the WWE Championship to Daniel Bryan; who eventually lost it to Randy Orton moments later, in order to take some time off and have elbow surgery.

The word going round after SummerSlam was that Cena is looking to be back as soon as possible, and have surgery this coming week; it should also be noted that Cena suffered a left eye injury during his SummerSlam match last night.

Ric Flair left out of SummerSlam

WWE legend Ric Flair was scheduled to make a surprise appearance at last night’s SummerSlam event, although that plan was scrapped as WWE officials were upset with his antics at the WWE2K14 event on Saturday night, with many saying Ric Flair was drunk and ‘hi-jacked’ the event.

Alberto Del Rio involved in brawl

There have been reports circulating over the weekend that World Heavyweight Champion; Alberto Del Rio was involved in a scuffle with another WWE superstar.

For those of you that watched SummerSlam, you would have seen the black eye Alberto Del Rio was showing and it has been suspected that it was caused by Drew McIntyre; both men returned their hotel in the afternoon looking beat up.

SummerSlam fallout

WWE.com caught up with several superstars and divas after the event last night; the most notable responses came from the following stars:
Christian was “heartbroken” following his loss to Alberto Del Rio, saying he has some things to think over. WWE Diva Natalya says she got emotional and cried after her victory over Brie Bella; saying she felt like she did it for her father; who we all know as Jim Neidhart as well as her uncles, the great Bret and Owen Hart.

Big Show said he felt the way Daniel Bryan lost the WWE Championship to Randy Orton was “garbage”; teasing he would also like to knock Triple H out following his role in Orton’s victory. Cody Rhodes defeated Damien Sandow and caught up with WWE.com, saying he is over him and has never felt this vindicated in his career; he did not comment on him shaving his moustache and teased something happening relatively soon that we may not want to miss out. Sandow also spoke, and still insisted he is the better man, the briefcase proves it. After his loss, CM Punk said he is not in it to win, he is in it to hurt Paul Heyman, it is not over.

The Best vs. The Beast gets a standing ovation

Sticking with CM Punk,we witnessed some great matches taking place at SummerSlam; there was no doubt that the no disqualification match was the best of the night; once both superstars made it to the back they both received standing ovations from other WWE talents backstage; and rightfully so.

Raw preview

Tonight’s Raw should be entertaining, with a lot of interesting things happening at SummerSlam, we should expect to see a great Raw tonight especially with the SummerSlam fallout; which takes place in Anaheim California.

Vince and Stephanie McMahon are advertised to appear, Brock Lesnar is not and the WWE are focusing on several points to cover tonight. What CM Punk has planned for Paul Heyman, how Christian will try to get another crack at the World Heavyweight Championship, who Bray Wyatt will target next after defeating Kane.

The main two angles which should be covered include how Daniel Bryan will recover from last night’s events. And what is next for Randy Orton and how Triple H will fit into the plans as this corporate feud looks set to continue.
