All supporters will have their own preferences for possible transfers before the transfer window closes at the end of August, so which areas do you feel your club should concentrate on strengthening?
If you are an Arsenal supporter I suspect you will want to strengthen all areas of your team following the 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa at the weekend. However, which areas are the most in need of strengthening?
Clearly Wenger is looking to spend his money but has not done so yet. Luis Suarez has been a possible target but as time goes by it seems he will remain a Liverpool player until at least January.
Wenger is also an admirer of Yohan Cabaye and has reportedly offered around £10m for the Newcastle midfielder. Is he the right man for Arsenal? Clearly Arsenal need to act quickly because they cannot afford to fall behind the early pace setters in the Premier League.
Manchester United are another club not rushing to sign players. However, the rumours are increasing that they are to target Everton duo Leighton Baines and Marouanne Fellaini for the right price. Will United fans be happy with these additions or do they feel other areas need strengthening?
All clubs will want to improve their squads and probably none more so than those who are expecting a relegation battle or those who want to ensure they are not part of it.
The likes of Cardiff City and Hull City have been very active, but arguably they need to do more. Too many changes could have an adverse effect on the team though and to teams who have just been promoted they will need every point they can get. Sunderland have been very active but wholesale changes may not be a good move.
Strikers always win you matches but to afford a top class striker will cost a club a lot of money and some clubs do not have the financial clout to do this. Some have to take chances on players from abroad or lower leagues in the hope that they can unearth someone who will make a difference.
Clubs need to be realistic though.
Fulham seem to have been astute with their signings this summer. Signing Scott Parker is a good move for both the player and the club. They have also signed the likes of Darren Bent and Adel Taarabt. What other areas would Fulham supporters like to see strengthened?
Newcastle have been surprisingly quiet, with only Loic Remy added to last year's squad. They did make plenty of signings last season so perhaps they feel that a summer of consolidating what they have is the best way forward. However, judging by their 4-0 defeat to Manchester City, they may need to spend to improve particularly if Cabaye departs.
Talking about City, they have actually been the biggest spenders so far this summer.
They already have a fantastic squad but adding the likes of Jesus Navas and
Fernandinho will undoubtedly aid their title challenge.
I am not sure they need to add any more players but I suppose if the right player becomes available at the right price then they will certainly be interested.
One thing is for sure, there will be a few more signings taking place this month and
it only takes one big transfer to spark a hive of activity. Who will be the biggest
transfer still to take place?
Which club do you support and what are your hopes for the transfer window? Perhaps you will just be happy to hang on to your best players like the Evertonians.
