Tottenham Hotspur fans can look to the start of the season with both excitement and an element of anxiety.
This excitement is due to the significant amount of money spent on superb players such as Paulinho, Nacer Chadli and Roberto Soldado.
But, the one thing that will stay in their minds for the whole of the transfer window is the still ongoing transfer saga surrounding Gareth Bale.
According to various newspapers and Sky Sports News, things have started to slow down between Real Madrid and Spurs, but that doesn't mean Bale won't end up in leaving in what would be a record-breaking transfer.
If Bale does leave for the Spanish capital or anywhere else, you would think Tottenham would have to settle for targeting the top four again, but could still possibly end up missing out by finishing fifth again.
However, if Daniel Levy sticks to his guns and keeps his prized asset, and their top signings hit the ground running, then maybe they could be the surprised package of the campaign; maybe a title challenge will be on the cards.
