It's not easy being a professional football manager. Many a man has been turned grey by the rigours of the modern game, and the Premier League is the toughest gig of the lot.

From the recently retired Sir Alex to the not so great Juande Ramos, English football has seen them all.

One thing that has become abundantly clear in modern football however, is that no matter how well things seem to be going, a manager is only a couple of months away from potentially being out a job.

With the new Premier League having just kicked off, we take a look at the top five candidates to face the axe over the course of the year. For one reason or another, these gaffers are treading dangerously close to the line between blissful employment and instant rejection.
