Despite last season's assurances that this would finally be the year that Arsenal threw off the shackles of austerity and once again became major players in the transfer market, fans are again accusing Wenger and the club of a serious lack of ambition that will see them unable to mount a serious for the Premier League title. The Frenchman in particular has been subject to criticism over his unwillingness to adapt to the modern market in which talented players demand increasingly inflated fees.
