German national champion Kai Wollin can't wait to get his hands on the latest edition in the EA Sports FIFA franchise - FIFA 14.

The 24-year-old gamer, who won his nation's FIWC qualifier in Dortmund earlier in the year, will be the home favourite when he takes on three former world champions in tomorrow's Champions Trophy showdown on the new game.

Wollin will face-off against Bruce Grannec, Alfonso Ramos and Francisco Cruz in the event at Gamescom in Cologne, and the underdog is hoping he can cause an upset when they all get a first chance to get his hands on the game.

"I'm looking forward to playing the new game. Every year FIFA seems to make improvements and you know it will be the same again for the new edition of the game," he told GiveMeSport in a busy hotel ahead of the event.

"I'm excited to be here and to get a chance to play at Gamescom tomorrow (Wednesday). It's nice to be involved as the event is in Germany, and as national champion I hope I can do well. I'm hoping the crowd get behind me in the Champions Trophy.

"It's not so much pressure when you play against the very best players, because you have to be focused to play the best you can. I will just try mu best like I always do, and fingers crossed I can win it. I know it won't be easy though, because these guys are also great players."

Wollin, a big Borussia Dortmund fan, is also looking forward to seeing the different stats and changes made to each team, which will lead to a big decision on whether he continues to play as Real Madrid, or changes for somebody else on the new version.

"Real Madrid were the best on FIFA 13, but it's a new year and there have been some big changes in the transfer market in the real world, so it will be interesting to see how this affects the likes of BVB and Barcelona."

The FIFA 14 Champions Trophy takes place tomorrow evening at Gamescom, and GiveMeSport will bring live updates from the event as and when it happens.
