Liverpool have confirmed their fifth signing of the summer transfer window, after securing Valencia defender Aly Cissokho on a season-long-loan deal.
The 25-year-old follows the likes of Iago Aspas, Luis Alberto, Simon Mignolet and Kolo Toure over to Anfield, in an attempt to get Liverpool the back in the race for major honours again.
Cissokho, speaking to the Liverpool website, said: “ I am very happy to be here. I think we have a great team and great fans and together we can achieve big things.”
Now that Liverpool have made a signing in almost every position, if not all, they now definitely seem to have gained a lot more depth within the squad, which could see them become much stronger during the latter stages of their season.
In the meantime, many fans will be happy to still see star striker Luis Suarez at the club, despite having had a long media fiasco over his potential move to Arsenal, which appears to have died down.
So, with the runner up to the Golden Boot award of the 2012/13 season in their ranks, as well as a shiny new defence with the likes of Cissokho, Toure and impressive new goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, Liverpool should be striving for a strong finish to this campaign.
In terms of their loanee, Liverpool have signed a France international, who has
been capped once so far by his country, who has experienced Champions League
football with players teams like FC Porto and Lyon.
He was also part of the Lyon team who travelled to Anfield and beat Liverpool 2-1 in
