Gareth Bale could be set to remain at White Hart Lane after Real Madrid legend Raul said the Welshman was ‘not worth’ the money Daniel Levy expected from any potential transfer.
The Tottenham chairman wants at least £93million for his star player but now it seems Tottenham will hold on to their influential talisman.
After a pre-season full of speculation it seems that Tottenham are the big winners as they have been able to significantly strengthen their side as well as being able to hold on to a player who set the Premier League alight last season with his dazzling runs, sensational long-range strikes and his blistering pace.
Tottenham moved early in this summers transfer window, twice breaking their own transfer record to sign Brazilian Paulinho and former Valencia front man Roberto Soldado.
But Levy’s most vital piece of business this year will be ensuring Bale won’t be leaving Spurs this summer.
Bale, who is currently sidelined with injury, was believed to be very interested in a move to Spain but refused to make a transfer request probably to preserve his relationship with the Tottenham faithful should a move fail to materialise.
With Bale in the team and the new recruits, Andre Villas-Boas has every reason to feel optimistic leading up to a Champions League qualification fight with north London rivals Arsenal. Bale remaining in the Premier League is a true treat for all Spurs fans and neutrals alike.
