Arsenal suffer setback in chase for Manchester City star

Arsenal have suffered a blow in their attempt to sign Manchester City defender Micah Richards, according to the Daily Star.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has reportedly made an inquiry for the 25-year-old and, despite Richards being keen on a move, the Citizens don’t want to part with the English international.

As a move for Richards looks destined to fail, Wenger is set to turn his attention to Swansea City’s £11 million rated captain, Ashley Williams.

Williams has been a long-term target for Wenger and the Gunners boss may now make a move for the Welshman.

Arsenal are desperate to improve their squad after their nightmare start to the season, after they were beaten 3-1 by Aston Villa at the Emirates.

And, the north London outfit have a huge game in their season tonight as they travel to Turkish side Fenerbahce in the first leg of the Champions League qualifying tie.
