A new season has just begun, and already you get the feeling that only a handful of clubs are capable of winning the Premier League. Are these clubs "bullying" their fellow members? Why did Arsenal only offer £10 million for Yohan Cabaye and what are Manchester United playing at?
Offering £28 million for Leighton Baines and Maroune Fellaini is truly outrageous, David Moyes has got some cheek offering such little money, considering what he said when he was the Everton Manager: 'Everton sell very expensively; that's what we do’.
It would appear that the big boys make a paltry offer, unsettle a player and force the club in question to sell at an unfair and reduced price. Did Manchester United offer £10 million for Cesc Fabregas? Did Arsenal attempt to poach Luis Suarez for 15 million? No way Jose!
Roberto Martinez has said that the bid for Fellaini and Baines was a 'waste of time', but money always talks. Let's hope Everton in particular stick to their guns, and Newcastle stick one on the Gunners. The time up to the transfer deadline is going to be fascinating to watch. If Everton are forced to sell, let's hope at the very least the bank manager is grateful, although a large cheque never did put the ball in the net.
Bill Kenwright the Chairman of Everton is continually looking for a billionaire, but at the moment given the current financial situation and the size of their overdraft, and the outdated stadium at Goodison Park, who knows how things are going to turn out in the short term.
Fellaini has moved house to Manchester last season and will he playing for Manchester United this season. Baines is the ideal professional must and see what the future holds. One things for certain, it is going to be a truly intriguing transfer window.
