If not now, then when? Arsenal need new, quality players to compete for the top four this season.

It's been Arsenal's habit of late to sell their best players and miss out on key targets. Arsene Wenger needs to do something fast to improve his team as there are only days left until the end of a transfer window.

Despite been given a hefty transfer budget Arsenal have not made a single signing except for Yaya Sanago, who was signed on a free transfer. Wenger needs to splash the cash to keep fans happy or this could well be his last season in charge of Arsenal.

The Gunners narrowly made to the top four last season but this season a repeat of that feat looks evermore unlikely, with Tottenham and Liverpool making quality signings aplenty in order to pip them to it.

Arsenal need to improve the players in the following areas:
Goalkeeper
Centre-back
Right-back
Centre-midfield
Centre-forward

Goalkeeper
Szczesny had a decent season last year but Arsenal really need a consistent and experienced 'keeper that is capable of managing clean sheets against rival teams that pose a threat for the top four positions.
Who should they sign: Julio Cesar

Centre-back
With Vermaelen out of favour and Koscielny out for a couple of games, the Gunners really need another central defender. Mertesacker is reasonably solid, minus his pace, but they could do with a quality signing to play along side Koscielny.
Who should they sign: Joleon Lescott/ Ashley Williams

Right-back
Sagna seems to be getting worse season by season so in my opinion the best thing Arsenal can do is flog him off to another team for £3-4 million and look to replace him before the end of the window. Jenkinson is quality ias far as I'm concerned, but far too inexperienced.
Who should they sign: Lescott / Micah Richards / Ashley Williams

Centre-midfield
If they manage to capture Cabaye, that would be a great signing as they need a holding, defensive player other than Arteta to dictate the middle of the park.
If they sign Cabaye, Wilshere and Cazorla can push more upfield and play more of an attacking role.
Who should they sign: Yohan Cabaye / Lars Bender

Centre-forward
They missed out on both Luis Suarez and Gonazalo Higuain so they need to look for another striker to play off Giroud. The Rooney transfer seems to have died down so they need to rekindle their interest in the forward position. Lukas Podolski will most likely play left-wing this season considering that Gervinho has gone to Roma and the Ox out injured for the foreseeable future. They need another striker.
Who should they sign: Michu / Burak Yilmaz / Samuel Eto'o
