According to various reports in the Spanish press, Karim Benzema, is all but ready for the renewal of his contract at Real Madrid.
The 25-year-old and his club are expected to meet for the negotiations soon concerning an extension to his current deal.
Benzema's contract expires in 2015, and he has already been linked to the Italian giants AC Milan and Juventus as they look to bolster their attacking lines.
However, it's now believed that contract discussions will begin in the month of September and both parties will be hoping that the deal is done by the end of the year at the very latest.
Real Madrid's director general Jose Angel Sanchez is already believed to have spoken to Benzema and is confident of the striker's desire to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez is also understood to be a fan of the Frenchman, leaving Benzema in a healthy position for the new deal.
The French international has already spent four years with Real Madrid and is their lone experienced striker since the departure of Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli this summer.
The goal-scorers stay is all but guaranteed despite of the change of manager, as he has scored 57 goals for Los Blancos and assisted 35 in La Liga.
