Premier League: Top five left-footed players (1)

Football News

What is it that makes left-footed players so special?

For some reason they always seem so technically assured, with an innate ability to pass and shoot with more accuracy than your average right-footed player.

Some of the best footballers of all-time were born with a magic wand of a left foot, including arguably the two greatest: Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi.

Naturally left-footed players with world-class ability are worth their weight in gold to the biggest clubs, and each of the top four teams in the Premier League has a player that falls into this category.

This list features those four star players, plus another who may not be a Premier League player for too much longer.

I have ranked them in order based on ability and recent performances - but feel free to comment, whether you agree or disagree.

Unfortunately, as with every top five list, it's impossible to satisfy everyone - and despite wanting to include the likes of Jan Vertonghen, Ashley Cole and Leighton Baines, they will have to settle for an honourable mention.
