The former England manager is currently the third favourite to take the role - behind Southgate and Appleton.

Hoddle had a successful period managing the England national side but was dismissed after he made some untimely comments.

That has all been forgotten though so is in line to at least be asked to speak to the Football Association. Former defender Rio Ferdinand believes the national team has gone 'backwards' since his departure - so he might be the ideal man for the job.
