Manchester United stars and their partners ween seen dining at Deansgate's upmarket Australasia restaurant on Tuesday evening in a season-launch party reportedly organised by manager David Moyes.
United hired the restaurant for a private function and stars including Rio Ferdinand, Danny Welbeck and Nemanja Vidic were spotted enjoying a four-course meal.
The Premier League champions, under the watchful eye of Moyes, tucked into sushi, black cod, beef skewers and honey-glazed duck.
Wayne Rooney also attended - the England international remains in the spotlight with fellow Premier League outfit Chelsea reportedly preparing a final bid for the star.
Jose Mourinho has refused to give up on the England international but has assured supporters he has plan B and C if he doesn't get his number one target.
"We will keep trying because, when the market is open, official bids are not forbidden," said Mourinho. "You try because nobody forbids you to try.
"We have conditions to try to improve our team with one more player. But we do have a Plan B and a Plan C."
