Current FIWC champion Bruce Grannec is through to another final after beating home favourite Kai Wollin in the first semi-final on FIFA 14 at the Champions Trophy in Cologne.

Grannec, nicknamed the machine, is looking to retain the title he won in Vancouver last year, and he was forced to battle hard against the reigning German champion in-front of a select group of fans and media.

After admitting to GiveMeSport that Real Madrid were the best team in FIFA 13, the Frenchman opted to stick with what he knew best, and it was a tactic that worked well in a captivating 3-2 victory.

Wollin, meanwhile, opted to play as Bayern Munich. Despite being a Borussia Dortmund fan, he felt that the current Bundesliga and Champions League holders would give him the best chance.

It wasn't to be however, and after taking the lead in the opening quarter, he could only manage a late consolation.

The result means Grannec will face the winner of the second semi-final, with two-time FIWC winner Alfonso Ramos taking on the youngest ever winner of the competition - Francisco Cruz.

GiveMeSport will bring you the result immediately in the aftermath.
