Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair is close to joining West Bromwich Albion on a season-long loan deal, according to the Birmingham Mail.

24-year-old Sinclair, who joined City from Premier League rivals Swansea City for £8 million in August 2012, has struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular at the Etihad Stadium and rumours of his impending exit will come as no surprise to the club's supporters.

A number of top-flight sides were said to be interested in securing Sinclair's signature, but it appears that the Baggies have become the frontrunners with the player reportedly due in the Midlands today to discuss personal terms and complete a medical.

West Brom opened their 2013/14 campaign with a disappointing last-gasp 1-0 defeat to Southampton at the Hawthorns last weekend and Steve Clarke's men face a potentially difficult trip to Everton on Saturday.

In addition to Sinclair, West Brom are also rumoured to be interested in securing a deal with Marseille for the services of French midfielder Morgan Amalifitano.
