Liverpool youngster Philippe Coutinho has the ability to become an Anfield legend according to former star Peter Beardsley.
The Brazilian has put in some sparkling performances for the club since his £8.5 million move from Italian giants Inter Milan back in January.
And after another impressive display at the weekend which saw his side defeat Stoke City 1-0, Beardsley believes Coutinho has what it takes to become as good a player as Kenny Dalglish.
"I love Coutinho. He is outstanding and has unbelievable ability," Beardsley said.
"He’s better than I ever was and I really mean that. He’s miles better than me.
"If he stays here for a long time he’s got a chance of being as big as Kenny – that kind of stature.
"I look at his ability and I think he could be the new Kenny Dalglish. He is a very special player."
The 21-year-old has become a key figure for Brendan Rodgers since his arrival on Merseyside, and will be vital to the club's hopes of securing Champions League qualification this season.
Liverpool have been absent from the competition since 2009, but after strengthening their squad this summer with a number of new additions, their is renewed belief among fans of the club that they can make a real push for the Premier League's top four.
However much will still depend on the situation surrounding forward Luis Suarez, with the Uruguayan's future at the club still uncertain.
