Roma could be set to make an offer for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez if they miss out on Demba Ba, according to The Express.
Reports in Italy have claimed that the Italian giants have identified United's Mexican ace as a target, but will only pursue a move for him if they are unsuccessful in bringing Ba to the club.
The Italian outfit have asked about the availability of the Senegalese forward while in London negotiating with Tottenham over the sale of their prize asset Erik Lamela.
However, according to Tuttosport, the Roma hierarchy aren't confident that a move for the Blues ace will materialise.
And, with Roma having already signed Gervinho from Arsenal this summer, they could now try and add Hernandez to their side.
The Red Devils' forward has also been linked with a move to Valencia and Juventus this summer, so Roma would face tough competition for his signature.
Despite Hernandez's agent having stated that his client is happy at Old Trafford, he could yet make a move to Serie A before the end of the transfer window.
