A five-star display from Swansea earned a 5-1 win against Romanian opponents Petrolul Ploiesti, rounding off a superb night for the Welsh side.
Winger Wayne Routledge led the night for the Swans, with a superb display from the Englishman. He found the first goal after just 14 minutes, the first of his brace.
It was striker Miguel Michu who got the second of the night, tapping in on just 22 minutes after Ploiesti keeper Peterson Pecanha failed to handle a stinging shot.
The third came from Wayne Routledge, heading in his second of the night and Swansea’s third. It was 3-0 at half-time although Swansea were not finished.
It took until 58 minutes for the next goal to come, Wilfired Bony’s shot was initially saved by keeper Peterson Pecanha before it slipped out of the keepers grasp and trickled into the back of the net.
Alejandro Pozuelo chipped in a fifth goal, the new summer signing showing his skill and impressing the Welsh crowd, although there was one more goal to come.
Probably just a consolation, although should be mentioned, Romanian side Petrolul Ploiesti scored through Gheorghe Grozav with a spectacular bicycle kick which was definitely the best goal of the game.
Swansea are all but through although should not get complacent as they are not through it yet! What did you think of the game? Feel free to comment below.
