Arsenal currently enduring a difficult summer as they have failed to secure high profile strikers like Luis Suarez and Gonzalo Higuain. However, with the impending news of Gareth Bale’s arrival to Real Madrid, it seems striker Karim Benzema may be available for the right price.

According to ESPNFC a reported fee of £40 Million would be enough to price the French international away from Santiago Bernabeu. Karim Benzema who scored 20 goals in all competitions last season is the only striker Real Madrid have apart from Spanish U21 star, Alvaro Morata.

Nonetheless, this season Real Madrid has deployed Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale may want to continue in his central attacking role, which may leave Benzema reeling on the bench. In addition Arsenal have abandoned their pursuit of Luis Suarez after several failed bids. This was confirmed Arsenal boss when he dismissed the possibility of the transfer by saying: "[There is] absolutely no chance of that.

"It is true that one bid for a striker did not work. That took a long time. We have to wake up from that now. I'm confident.

"The transfer market starts for me now and a lot of activity will happen between now and September 2. It is like a poker game. People hold their cards as long as possible. In the end, they go for decisions."

Arsene Wenger seems adamant that he will conclude a massive signing before the conclusion of the summer transfer. Should the transfer materialise, the French striker may be the quality player the fans yearn for.
