Premier League: Top five unsung heroes (6)

Youssouf Mulumbu

Steve Clarke's debut season in charge at West Brom proved to be a roaring success. After largely flying under the radar throughout the campaign, the Baggies went on to finish eighth in the Premier League - their highest-ever finish.

Integral to such largely unexpected success were the performances of 26-year-old Mulumbu. The Congolese international, who arrived at the Hawthorns from Paris Saint-Germain in 2009, was an instrumental figure in the heart of Clarke's midfield and formed a formidable partnership with talented Argentine Claudio Yacob.

Although he doesn't enjoy a particularly high-profile outside of the Midlands, many West Brom fans are convinced that Mulumbu is their top performer.
