Arsenal are being linked with a move for Manchester City defender Micah Richards.

The Daily Star claims the Gunners' comprehensive success over Fenerbahce in the Champions League play-off first leg has given Arsene Wenger confidence to make some moves in the transfer market.

And, England full-back Richards is one of the players on the Arsenal transfer radar as the manager looks to bolster his defence this summer.

Ashley Williams is also being linked with a move to north London, whilst the paper claims Angel di Maria, Karim Benzema and Yohan Cabaye are additional names in the frame.

Richards broke into the Manchester City first team back in 2005, but a mixture of injuries and loss in form saw him fall down the pecking order under Roberto Mancini.

Despite the change in manager at the Etihad Stadium this summer, the future looks bleak for Richards under Manuel Pellegrini, with the 25-year-old failing to make the bench for the Citizens’ opening Premier League fixture.

With less than 10 days left in the transfer window, a bid from the capital could see his time at Manchester City come to an end.

Arsenal stuttered to defeat on the opening day of the season, and signings could bring some much-needed confidence at the club.
