Published 1 Comments

Arsenal have been linked with a number of players this summer but have failed with their attempts to capture their signatures.

The most notable potential signings that fell through were Luis Suarez from Liverpool, Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid, who joined Napoli over Arsenal, and Luiz Gustavo who joined Wolfsburg from Bayern Munich.

Below is a list of players that could become available to Arsenal for the right price and would be open to a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Karim Benzema

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been an admirer of the French international since he was a youngster at Lyon.

The striker would add an extra option in attack with the only established strikers in the squad being Podolski and Giroud. The Frenchman has netted 56 goals in 125 appearances for Madrid and could be available to Arsenal for around £40m.

The Gunners have been linked with the Spanish striker this summer and he would add goals and a bit of creative play to the Arsenal attack. He has managed to score 18 goals in 36 appearances for the Swans.

The Swansea forward could become available to Arsenal for around £25m.

Yohan Cabaye

Arsenal have already had a bid in the region of £12m rejected for the French midfielder and have been told by Newcastle boss Alan Pardew that they will have to up their bid to around £20m if they want to secure his services.

Cabaye is a box-to-box midfielder and is described as a player who possesses "excellent vision, great ball control", and "provides technical quality" by his boss.

Angel Di Maria

The Argentine plays as winger for Real Madrid and possesses great trickery and vision in his play which would add to Arsenal's creativity in attack.

The Real Madrid midfielder would be available to Arsenal if they meet the Spanish club's valuation of the player.

Ashley Williams

The Welsh international and Swansea captain plays in defense for both club and country and would cost Arsenal around £10m. The Welshman would add to the defence and his experience as a captain will help to control the back four.

Wenger has promised transfers at Arsenal and has just over a week to add to his squad.

Transfers at Arsenal are expected to come in fast in the next nine days before the window closes on the September 2.

These five players would add depth and strengthen the Arsenal squad and would help Arsenal to become contenders this season.
