Tottenham Hotspur’s possible signing of Eric Lamela will be, in my opinion, the signing of the summer.
With the transfer fee at a reported £30 million, it will break the club record fee for the second time this window, having earlier signed Roberto Soldado for £26 million.
The 21-year-old has already made three appearances for his national team Argentina, but is yet to score.
One of the trickiest players in the world, Lamela has a ferocious reputation for his speed and dribbling, a perfect replacement for Gareth Bale.
With it being a summer of big money, £30 million doesn’t seem that much, especially for a very promising young talent, I would put him at the same level as Lucas Moura, Bernard and even Neymar.
I also think that by the time he is the same age as Bale, he will be just as good as him, if not better.
A very similar player to the Welsh wing wizard, Lamela is primarily a winger, but can play as a false nine, or as an out-an-out striker.
With 15 goals in 33 games, Lamela was a prolific goal-scorer in the Serie A, scoring more than players like Stefan Jovetic and Luis Muriel.
With only a medical to pass, Lamela is surely on his way to White Hart Lane for a club record.
To conclude, Tottenham have been the best Premier League club in this transfer window, and are the verge of the signing of the transfer window, watch out, they are dark horses for the title.
