With rumours of Jose Mourinho preparing to hijack Tottenham's target Willian from Anzhi Makhachkala, the ultimate question is, do Chelsea really need him?
Well, in terms of depth Chelsea don't need him, when Mourinho can chose between Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard, Victor Moses, Juan Mata, Oscar and Andre Schurrle, which are all top players who play in the attacking positions.
Last season, Mata, Hazard and Oscar formed a great partnership in midfield assisting over 50 goals and scoring important ones themselves. Victor Moses even proved to be a handy substitute with some important goals.
Mourinho, in his latest press conference claimed that if a player will come to Chelsea, another player will leave the club. Victor Moses could be the unlucky one with a possible loan deal a likely move. But yet, Willian won't come to a squad to sit on the bench.
Oscar might be the player to sit on the bench after the arrival of Willian, but that will, Mourinho will not have the impact behind the main striker that MAZACAR (Mata, Hazard and Oscar) made last season.
Willian's statistics don't provide the fans with too much excitement although he has shown glimpses. But with only one good season at Shakhtar Donetsk, followed by a move to play in the Russian league, I am yet to be convinced.
Willian might be good to replace Gareth Bale at Tottenham, but he won't be an impact player at Chelsea with all the young players that they currently own.
