With the capture of Gareth Bale reportedly on the horizon for Real Madrid, one of their own stars might feel that his time is up at the Santiago Bernabéu.
With Manchester United still looking to make their first significant signing of the transfer window and with the clock still ticking, German star Mesut Ozil could be the answer to manager David Moyes' prayers.
Moyes has had a frustrating time this summer trying to secure new faces for the Old Trafford faithful. He has seemingly tried and failed to land two Spanish midfielders, with Thiago Alcantara opting to join Bayern Munich and Cesc Fabregas choosing to remain with Catalan giants Barcelona.
Though if the Scot could secure Ozil's signature, that would surely silence many of his critics with other clubs such as Chelsea and fierce rivals Manchester City all active in the transfer window so far.
Earlier reports suggested that Ozil was offered to the Premier League champions for £38m as a way of obtaining funds for the controversially-priced Gareth Bale.
Real boss Carlo Ancelotti has already got a considerable headache trying to work out how to fit Cristiano Ronaldo, Bale, new boy Isco and Luka Modric into the same team, so the sale of Ozil would surely make things more straightforward for the manager.
