The agent of Real Madrid's Karim Benzema has insisted that the Frenchman will not be joining Arsenal this summer.

Along with teammate Angel di Maria, striker Benzema, 25, has been linked with a potential switch to North London this week as Gunners boss Arsene Wenger seeks to significantly bolster his attacking options ahead of the close of the transfer window on September 2.

Wenger is believed to be a long-term admirer of Benzema, who moved to the Bernabeu from Lyon in July 2009. Yet despite Wenger's clear admiration, the player's agent, Karim Djaziri, has claimed his client has no interest whatsoever in moving to North London this summer.

Speaking to French newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche, Djaziri said: ""We can't stop the rumours. But I tell you: Karim will not go to Arsenal. It's never been a question for him and no contact has been made."

Speculation over Benzema's future in the Spanish capital has re-surfaced as Real edge ever closer to completing a world record deal for Tottenham superstar Gareth Bale. Yet Djaziri says the striker does not fear for his place in Carlo Ancelotti's starting lineup.

""He will stay at Madrid. The probable arrival of Gareth Bale at Real Madrid doesn't threaten him at all. Cristiano Ronaldo and Bale will play on the wings and Karim in the centre.

"Karim could very well finish his career at Real, the club of his dreams," he added.
