Top five: Premier League youngsters ready to step up in 2013/14

The 2013/14 campaign looks like it's going to be a little bit different. The Premier League now has a selection of young individual stars, and it looks as though those youngsters are ready to step up this season!

Here are five of the best prospects in England's top-flight this year...

5) Wilfried Zaha - Manchester United

We all know this man, Manchester United's new young talent recently signed from Crystal Palace. Young Wilfried Zaha has already proven his ability with his performances for Crystal Palace last season and for United during pre-season and training.

It's all just a matter of whether Zaha will play or not, with Nani looking likely to leave Zaha is one of Manchester United's top picks, with only Antonio Valencia in the right midfield position, Zaha could be world class this season.

4) James Ward-Prowse - Southampton

James Ward-Prowse looks in sharp and excellent form this year, already in the first two games of the season he has displayed an amazing performance in midfield with great passing he is able to set up numerous chances for Southampton.

If the young man continues to play in this playmaker style, he could be a very big player for Southampton this season.

3) Raheem Sterling - Liverpool

Raheem Sterling in fact was known well last season for being an excellent substitute but this season he looks ready to start shining for Liverpool following the sale of Stewart Downing.

Sterling is a very talented player, one aspect being purely his pace, his is able to breeze past full-backs using his fantastic pace and he is a very good crosser and dispatcher of the ball. If he again starts a lot for Liverpool this season he could be grabbing many assists for them.

2) Ross Barkley - Everton

Ross Barkley really showed how good he actually is in Everton's first two games of the season. In the opening game against Norwich he showed Everton he deserved his place on with a sublime goal against a strong Canaries side.

He looks likely to impress more this season with his stand out shooting and passing, with Manchester United interested in Marouane Fellaini could this be Barkley's chance to step-up?

1) Oscar - Chelsea

This really could be the young Brazilian's season. Already with a goal to his name young Oscar's first two performances have been brilliant.

Many commentators saying how well Oscar was linking up with the rest of the midfield with the likes of Juan Mata and Eden Hazard. Also playing great balls through to the attackers. Watch out for Oscar this season it might just be a good one!
