Borussia Dortmund is currently without their midfield maestro Ilkay Gundogan, who is suffering from a back injury sustained on international duty in a friendly against Paraguay.

The 22-year-old is a very big part of the Dortmund set-up as he is the one who controls their play and distribute the ball to the likes of Marco Reus, Robert Lewandowski and Jakub Blaszczykowski.

Gundogan, however, has no idea when he will be back in his yellow jersey as there is no set date on his return. There has been speculation that the medical team at Dortmund have been left baffled as to the exact nature of the injury he sustained.

When asked by German newspaper Bild about when he will return the midfielder could not provide a specific time period he said: "I'm trying to get fit again as soon as possible. I don't want to say anymore."

Gundogan has featured already this season for Dortmund in the German Super Cup win over rivals Bayern Munich.

Jurgen Klopp will be hoping to have his star midfielder back in action as soon as possible to get his match fitness up to speed as the Champions League group stages are almost here.
