Premier League's top five target men (6)

Andy Carroll

Possibly the best target man currently plying his trade in the Premier League, Carroll's game is all about being physically stronger than his opposite number.

The former Newcastle striker has a wicked left foot, and West Ham's current playing style is centred around getting the ball to Carroll and then feeding off what he can give them in terms of knock downs.

Almost unrivalled in the air, and known for throwing his body at almost anything (including David de Gea) if he sniffs a goalscoring opportunity, Carroll is the perfect man to suit the long ball game some teams deploy.

The striker will be hoping to impose himself successfully on the Premier League this season, in a bid to make England's World Cup 2014 squad next summer.
