Sky Sports sources have indicated that there is more than one suitor in the hunt for the signature of Gareth Bale, and that a fee between the north London club and the Spanish giants is yet to be agreed.

Real Madrid have been desperate to sign the Welshman, and this was further enhanced by the signing of Neymar to Barcelona for an estimated fee of £51 million.

Madrid president Florentino Perez is therefore under pressure to deliver a top marquee signing that will get Madrid fans excited - and Gareth Bale will surely provide that.

Reports in Spain over the weekend suggested that Bale was edging closer to a world record move to Real, with the Welsh international returning back to the UK from Marbella today.

However, no deal has been agreed and Sky Sports understand that Tottenham are weighing up offers from clubs other than Madrid, yet the identity of these the mystery suitor remains unclear.

Sources have also indicated that a number of English clubs have made inquiries over the Welsh forward, yet no ofers have materialised. With the future of Wayne Rooney still up in the air, David Moyes has been credited with a move for Bale yet this is still to be confirmed.

Despite this saga, Andre Villas-Boas has stated his belief that Spurs will be a stronger outfit this season, with or without their prized asset, highlighting their impressive use of the transfer market.
