Chelsea and Jose Mourinho made a last minute successful attempt to spoil Tottenham's plans of landing Brazilian attacking midfielder Willian, and hijacked the Anzhi player to Stamford Bridge.

Willian was set to become part of Andre Villas-Boas' revolution at Tottenham Hotspur when he arrived for a medical at London.

Chelsea realised that Spurs are building quite a team in Premier League and are contenders for top honours with significant additions this summer.

Realising the potential and danger possessed by the Brazilian's move to White Hart Lane, Chelsea opted to hijack the move and bring him to the Bridge where there is a plethora of options available at Mourinho's hands for this position.

The summer addition of Andre Schurrle to the already existing lot of Frank Lampard, Oscar, Eden Hazard, Kevin De Bruyne and Juan Mata has made the attacking midfielder position a healthy problem for the Portuguese tactician.

Still he decided to weaken an opponent by bringing in a player which is not exactly a priority for him tells how much he is worried about Tottenham's progress this summer.

Mourinho's primary target this summer has been Manchester United's star striker Wayne Rooney. In order to secure a top player from a rival, the outspoken manager has went on to say that he is willing to sell to a rival and that will only improve the league.

Mourinho is very famous for his mind games and his actions to distract opponents, is he going to get a treatment for his own medicine.

Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to return the favour to Chelsea by launching an audacious bid for Chelsea's Player of the season Mata.

Since the arrival of Mourinho, Mata has found himself surplus to the requirements at Chelsea, and isn't considered as a first choice player for some strange reasons.

Atletico Madrid are also looking to lure the talented playmaker to their club, but they do not have the finances to back their chase.

Tottenham on the other hand are well stocked to test the waters. Even though it looks far away from reality, it can surely unsettle the player and club.

Also, Spurs can take sweet revenge with the same coin Chelsea are playing in the transfer market. Especially when the player finds playing time very difficult to come by in his club, this can be a chapter worth watching for football fans across the world.

Are we going to witness further surprises this summer?
