With just over a fortnight to go until the Night of Champions, the build up to the WWE Championship match between Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan continues to build.

Triple H opened the show by announcing the Raw ratings were soaring thanks to Randy Orton - Something WWE were worried after John Cena left - he then brought Orton out and presented him with a new car, before Daniel Bryan took offence to Orton being handed everything, so Triple H handed Daniel The Shield in a gauntlet match.

The Miz and Fandango continued their feud that began at Summerslam with The Miz dressed as Fandango dancing out to distract him during his match with Cody Rhodes, Rhodes got the win off the distraction but Damien Sandow got involved and Brad Maddox made the tag match - Miz and Cody vs Damien and Fandango. The Miz got the pin after the Skull crushing finale after Fandango left his partner.

CM Punk finally got his hands on Paul Heyman after the fans voted for the stipulation that meant that if Punk beat Curtis Axel, Paul Heyman would have to face The Best In The World. Punk won and Heyman had to be dragged to the ring, only for Axel to get involved and handcuff Punk. He tried to fight back but Heyman and Axel beat Punk with a Kendo stick, leaving him in a heap in the ring.

WWE continued to promote Total Divas with Natalya facing Brie. It was an improvement on the Summerslam match and Brie is getting better in the ring but I still think it was a pointless match with AJ and Kaitlyn dominating the divas division - all these woman with the exception of Natalya need a vast improvement before they are up to the Divas Champion's level.

AJ Lee cut a fantastic promo about how untalented the Divas division is, and how she has changed the women's division - and I agree with everything she says. The Divas need to concentrate on training not a reality show, even though Total Divas is a good insight.

Del Rio and RVD faced off in a match that if Rob Van Dam won he would face the champion at Night of Champions. Nothing special about it though, RVD got the win after a distraction from Rodriguez, Rob is exceptionally talented in the ring and Del Rio will have his hands full at the pay-per-view.

It is my understanding that Rey will start a feud with Alberto Del Rio on his return, the only thing I don't understand is where the RVD/Del Rio feud is going - I know they have match at Night of Champions but will Del Rio take the title into his storyline with former World Champion Mysterio?

Ryback continued his bullying, attacking Josh Mathews backstage, but when will this storyline end?

Randy Orton and Christian went one-on-one after words were said backstage earlier in the night, Orton showed off a lot in the match, giving his new heel character some more reason to be hated. Christian fought a good match but Orton had to resort to cheating to beat the former two-time champion, after a thumb to the eye allowed him to land an RKO and the pin.

Daniel Bryan then predictably cut a promo from backstage where he had spray painted Randy's new car with the word 'YES'. Safe to say, the WWE Champion was not impressed, neither was Triple H, who then said Bryan had made it personal, and sent Brad Maddox to force every superstar to watch Bryan run the gauntlet tonight, with the threat that if they get involved they would be fired.

The Prime time players continued to be pushed with Titus O'Neil facing Jack Swagger and getting the win off the distraction from Darren Young.

A CM Punk, V Paul Heyman, and Curtis Axel handicap elimination match at Night of Champions was announced after Punk asked for a match where Heyman couldn't get away. Expect the build up to get worse heading up to next month's pay-per-view.

Daniel Bryan ran the gauntlet against all three members off The Shield, beginning with Seth Rollins, a WWE superstar whom I myself and many others rate very highly - I think Seth held his own in the ring and when given a push as an individual superstar he will be more than ready.

After last week's knee injury many were worried about Seth but he looked like he had made a full recovery.

After nearly 20 minutes in the ring with Bryan, Rollins was pinned after a German suplex from the top rope made Seth flip in mid air, Bryan then hit the same knee that finished Cena off at Summerslam, for the three count. Dean jumped into the ring to be hit with The Yes Lock but Roman broke it up and got Ambrose disqualified, the three on one mugging ensued and no one was allowed to help with fear of being fired.

Triple H then came out to give The Shield the nod to hit the three-man power bomb and Randy Orton came out to gloat and hit the RKO on Bryan. Will Daniel Bryan even make it to Night of Champions?

I will also note that Big Show looked like he was going to do something, with his new contract signed, it doesn't look like he is going to be fired any time soon but the WWE fans were chanting for him and he looked like he really wanted to punch either Triple H or Randy Orton, wheather this will lead to anything, you will have to tune in next week.
