The Mirror are speculating that Fernando Torres could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge, in order for Wayne Rooney to come in.
Following the 0-0 draw between United and Chelsea last night Mourinho sparked widespread debate when he openly admitted that Torres was not worth the £50million that Chelsea had paid for him.
The Portuguese boss also moved to clarify the situation surrounding Wayne Rooney, stating that the striker now had 48 hours to decide whether or not his future lies at Old Trafford.
Rooney's performance in last night's match at Old Trafford will have done little to quell admiration from Stamford Bridge, as the striker completed 90 minutes in excellent fashion.
With Mourinho seemingly lacking solid faith in anyone of his striking trio of Torres, Ba and Lukaku, it may well transpire that he is content to let the Spaniard leave if it means that his primary target will arrive.
Mourinho said of Torres post-game last night: "[He] is not really £50million, maybe [he] is 20 and a half.
"He scored the goal that won the Europa League. That means some millions. He scored the goal against Everton that put Chelsea in the Champions League. That also means some millions," said Mourinho.
