Morroco winger Oussama Assaidi has signed a season-long loan deal to join Stoke from Liverpool, after the 25-year-old completed his medical today.
The winger has made just four appearances for Liverpool since his move from Danish side Heerenveen in the summer of 2012.
Assaidi becomes Hughes’ fourth signing of the summer, after the signings of Erik Pieters from PSV Eindhoven, Marc Muniesa from Barcelona and Juan Agudela who will join up in January from American side New England Revolution.
And on the addition of the youngster, Hughes told reporters: "He is an exciting player who has great pace and is very direct.
"He will certainly add another dimension to what we already have at the club." added Hughes.
Assaidi could make his debut in Wednesday’s League Cup game against Walsall.
And, chief executive Tony Scholes also expressed his delight in signing the player, as he said: "Mark identified the need to add more pace to the team and Oussama certainly fits the bill in that regard.
"He is an exciting talent and will certainly strengthen the resources at Mark’s disposal this season."
