Roy Hodgson has made his decision on the England squad that will take on Moldova on 6th September at Wembley and take on Ukraine away from home on the 10th September and there are a few surprising inclusions.
The Premier League season is only two games in, but Ross Barkley has been rewarded for performances against West Brom and in particular Norwich where he capped off a stellar, man-of-the-match performance with a thunderous strike from 25 yards.
While, Andros Townsend has impressed with goals in pre-season along with a dynamic, star performance against Dinamo Tbilisi which culminated in an impressive counter-attacking goal, along with two assists. Townsend also posed arguably the biggest threat in Spurs' 1-0 win over Swansea at the weekend.
Rickie Lambert has retained his place following the decisive winner against Scotland, while Daniel Sturridge returns following injury and Raheem Sterling is also back in the England set-up.
