Chelsea are in advanced talks with Porto to sign highly-rated winger Christian Atsu, according to Sky Sports.

The Ghana international, who came through the youth ranks at Porto, is expected to sign for the Blues before the transfer window closes on September 2.

With Atsu entering the final year of his contract, it's believed that Chelsea will be able to sign the 21-year-old for a fee of around £3.5m.

Atsu has been linked to several Premier League clubs in recent months including Tottenham, Liverpool and Everton. However, it's the west London outfit that are now firm favourites to secure his signature.

Blues' boss Jose Mourinho is keen to strengthen his squad before next Monday's deadline.

The Portuguese coach, who returned to Stamford Bridge this summer, is close to securing a deal for Anzhi Makhachkala striker Samuel Eto'o, while Brazil international Willian is expected to officially sign for the club later today.
