Victor Moses appears to be headed for a loan spell away from Chelsea.

It has been rumoured that as many as Premier League clubs are interested in signing the Nigerian international, however, according to the Daily Mail Liverpool are leading the way.

No deal has been struck, but Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is hoping his long-standing relationship with Jose Mourinho will help push the deal through by the September 2
transfer deadline.

Rumours are that Chelsea are seeking a £2million loan fee. This, along with Moses' £55,000 a week salary are currently preventing any possible deal from being completed as Liverpool appear reluctant to meet both figures.

With the addition of Willian from Anzhi, the Chelsea midfield appears overcrowded, with Willian, Moses, Juan Mata, Eden Hazard, Oscar, Kevin de Bruyne, and Andre Schurrle all competing for three positions.

Moses seems to have slipped down the pecking order, having failed to feature yet this season. Mourinho has already stated that no players will be sold, but loaning players out is likely. Moses was signed from Wigan just last August, but has yet to make a lasting impression at Stamford Bridge.
