Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly come to an agreement with Roma for Argentine winger Erik Lamela, who will now fly to London tomorrow to talk personal terms and undergo a medical.
Lamela has been strongly linked with Spurs in recent weeks, as Andre Villas-Boas contemplates life without Gareth Bale at White Hart Lane.
With Roma in talks to land a ready-made replacement for Lamela in Fiorentina forward Adem Ljajic the Giallorossi have sanctioned his sale to Spurs, according to Sky Sport Italia.
Lamela is now expected to leave the Italian capital for London later tonight, ahead of a move which would see him become Spurs’ fifth summer signing for a fee believed to be in the region of £30million.
The 21-year-old scored 15 times for Roma last season, operating primarily in an advanced position on the right wing.
Roma boss Rudi Garcia left Lamela on the bench for last weekend’s 2-0 win at Livorno, fuelling speculation that the Argentine international was primed to leave the Italian capital.
Lamela has won plenty of admirers during two full seasons in Serie A including Argentina boss Alejandro Sabella, who recalled the forward to his squad in last month’s friendly against Italy.
