Wales international Gareth Bale has failed to turn up to Tottenham training for the second successive day, angering manager Andre Villas-Boas.

Bale's proposed move to Real Madrid is on the verge of completion with the player reportedly "furious" and "frustrated" with Tottenham for stalling on the completion of the deal.

Villas-Boas is also confident that the deal will go through by stating Bale's transfer "could happen very, very soon".

Bale returned from a brief weekend holiday in Spain on Monday, and was expected to report for training on Tuesday.

However, the Welshman did not attend and was pictured in central London with his representatives. Sources suggest Bale's fee will be formally accepted and he will be allowed to join Madrid once Spurs confirm the signing of a replacement.

Argentine winger Erik Lamela is said to be close to finalising his £30m move to White Hart Lane, and could be announced as a Tottenham player within 24 hours. This will pave the way for Bale's dream move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
