Manchester United target Mesut Ozil, who was rumoured to be on David Moyes’ wish
list has ended speculation about a potential move away from the Spanish giants.

According to Sky Sports, Ozil spoke about his future at a shirt signing event, stating:

"I have a contract until 2016, I feel very good here and get on well with my team-mates. For me it's an honour to play here with this team. There has been a lot written in the press, they have spoken of interesting options but I have a contract and I am staying at Real Madrid."

With the impending arrival of Gareth Bale, Madrid will likely sell one or multiple players in order to balance the books. This fueled rumors that Ozil may be one of those to depart, with United being linked to the 24-year-old, whom Moyes believed could provide the cutting edge needed in the Red Devil’s midfield.

Given Ozil’s recent statements, it is difficult now to see the German international leaving the Santiago Bernabeu.

Since arriving from Werder Bremen in 2010, for a bargain price of  €15million, the attacking midfielder has blossomed into one of the best playmakers in the world, netting 19 goals and an astonishing 71 assists in just under three full seasons in Spain.
