Manchester United defender Marnick Vermijl is reportedly set to complete a loan move for Eredivisie outfit NEC Nijmegen before the close of the transfer window next week.
The 21-year-old has made only one first team appearance for the Premier League champions - coming in last season's League Cup - and reports in the Netherlands claim he will be given an opportunity to further his education elsewhere.
According to Het Nieuwsblad, Vermijl has been granted permission by Manchester United to join NEC on loan for the duration of the season, with first-team opportunities at Old Trafford likely to be limited.
A permanent transfer, however, would appear to be unlikely after he reportedly committed himself two Manchester United for another two years by signing a new contract shortly before the loan deal was sanctioned.
Vermijl is highly-rated by Manchester United and was voted as the second best player in the reserve team last season behind compatriot Adnan Januzaj, who is beginning to make his mark on David Moyes' senior side.
Vermijl began his youth career with Standard Liege before he joined Manchester United in 2010.
