Manchester United will face arch-rivals Liverpool in the third round of the Capital One Cup.

The north west giants, who meet in the Premier League on Sunday, will go head-to-head for a spot in the fourth round at Old Trafford.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will have star striker Luis Suarez available again for the first time against the Red Devils, as the Uruguayan would have served his 10-match suspension.

The third round will also see a rematch of last season's FA Cup final between Manchester City and Wigan Athletic.

Other standout ties include the all-Premier League clash between West Brom and Arsenal, as well as Swindon's clash with Chelsea.

The third round fixtures are as follows:

Manchester United v Liverpool

Sunderland v Peterborough

West Ham v Cardiff

Manchester City v Wigan Athletic

Burnley v Nottingham Forest or Millwall

Newcastle v Leeds

Southampton v Bristol City

West Brom v Arsenal

Swindon v Chelsea

Tranmere v Stoke

Watford v Norwich City

Aston Villa v Tottenham

Hull City v Huddersfield Town

Leicester City v Derby County

Birmingham City v Swansea City

Fulham v Everton or Stevenage
