Is Romelu Lukaku the next Drogba?

Romelu Lukaku is a six foot three inch Belgian-born striker who plays for Premier League club Chelsea.

He joined from Belgian team Anderlecht for a fee of £17m in 2011 and at the time was one of the hot prospects in football. Lukaku spent last season on loan at West Brom where he impressed scoring 17 times in the Premier League for the Baggies.

And in recent time, the Belgian powerhouse has been likened to former Blues legend Didier Drogba. First of all, Lukaku is someone you wouldn't want to mess with. He's tall, strong and very powerful - just like Drogba.

Also he is a lethal finisher with his head and with his feet and he possesses no real weakness. But, will he be as good as Drogba?

They may share similar physical and technical attributes but does Lukaku have the match winning mentality Drogba has.

The Ivorian star performs in the biggest games of them all - it was only a year ago when he single handedly won Chelsea the Champions League by scoring in the final minutes of the game and then clinching victory by cooly finishing the winning penalty.

Drogba and Lukaku may be similar but does the Belgian have what it takes to step up to the mark and perform at his peak when needed?

Only time will tell and when given the opportunity by Portuguese coach Jose Mourinhho, he must shine.
