Frustration - a word most associated with any Arsenal fan right now; 'In Wenger we trust' goes the saying, or should it be 'in Wenger we rust'?

With four days left before the transfer window closes and no new "special player" arrivals at Emirates Stadium yet, Wenger's last standing fans are fading away, and really fast. This seems to be a common feeling among a number of Arsenal fans but, on the bright side, the Gunners haven't lost a big player this time round - or maybe they just haven't got a big player to lose?

Arsene Wenger, possibly the most criticised manager in the Premier League around this time of year, is still the most successful manager in the club's history. Failure to lure in big players has been his only downfall but, personally, I believe Wenger is one of the best managers ever.

Last season after Arsenal's worst start to a season in 58 years Wenger remarkably guided the Gunners to a 15th successive season in the Champions League.

Over the past few years, big players have left and Wenger's youthful squad were claimed to have been competing for the prestigious Champions League spot only, which is most definitely true, but Wenger has shown his quality by still being an imposing club.

A few big name signings won't definitely mean silverware will be claimed, but it would go a long way to getting the fans back on side. Arsenal's squad are no longer the young, not ready to win titles, squad. For instance, if players like Theo Walcott, Santi Cazorla, Laurent Koscielny and Jack Wilshere have good seasons the Gunners could quite possibly win a much-needed trophy without buying any stars.

Arsenal fans have been in this boat before, the Gunners might not have signed a big player yet but the squad they possess at the moment can compete for the title. Wenger deserves more from his fans. In Wenger we trust
