If you go by history, Arsenal will somehow get their place in the Premier League's top four once again this season.
However, if you look at summer signings alone, Tottenham will finally end higher than their north London rivals.
Wenger, like every summer, said that his side could land some big names but eventually lost them.
Names such as Stevan Jovetic (Manchester City), Luiz Gustavo (Wolfsburg), and Bernard (Shkhtar Donetsk) were on the radar but didn't end up at the Emirates.
And not just a lack of transfer activity, Arsenal also experienced a defeat to Aston Villa on the Premier League's opening day but beat an unconvincing Fulham side earlier this week.
If Wenger wants to win a trophy, he can't aim higher than Capital One Cup or the FA Cup because of the lack of depth in his squad in almost every position - Szczesny is not the type of goalkeeper Arsenal should have and the problems at the back are just getting worse and worse.
Wenger doesn't seem to be feeling the pressure, but he has to react to the fans' shouts as they are begging him to sign a player and not even a big one, just a player to cover positions and bolster the squad options.
Wenger has to make last-minute signings and change the whole atmosphere in the dressing room ahead of a crucial season for the club.
