South Africa have claimed the top spot in the latest release of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test Team rankings. With 135 ratings on the board, the South Africans are well ahead of England (116) and India (116).
England, who recently recorded a 3-0 victory over Australia at the Ashes 2013, is placed in front of India, on the basis of points.
India clings on to number three spot with 116 ratings in 30 matches. India has a clean record this year, winning all the four matches played this season.
Pakistan is placed at fourth spot with 102 ratings in 19 matches. Pakistan has a disappointing 1947 points on the ranking chart.
Australia, who suffered a 3-0 defeat in the recently concluded Ashes, are placed at a unsatisfactory fifth place, having played 33 matches.
West Indies are located at number six, with regards to 99 ratings from 22 matches.
Sri Lanka has 88 points in her kitty from the 26 matches and played finds itself on the seventh position.
New Zealand is on the eight spot, accumulating 79 ratings from 27 matches.
Bangladesh is placed ninth in the latest rankings, with regards to their 10 points from 13 matches.
Zimbabwean Cricket team is unranked as it has played insufficient matches.
